Mark Zekulin, Tweed’s head of marketing and communications, said the company’s marketing approach may be more lighthearted than many of its competitors, but that doesn’t mean it is trying to appeal to a recreational user. The company does list the “street” names on its site as well as the “Tweed” names, but he said it’s important to do so because the “street” names are what many patients are familiar with. Given the nature of the business, one can wonder, and perhaps assume, that they chose the Name “Tweed”, to incorporate the street name “Weed”, and legitimize and sophisticate Cannabis within a corporate and trendy environment.
